On behalf of the Galati County Office for Culture, Galati 2020 Initiative presented the drama play “Domnul Goe” by I.L. Caragiale, on 30th of May. The play is concerned with recreating the atmosphere of Galati at the end of the XIXth century and took place during the event with the same goal:“Walking through the Public Garden, discover the old Galati”, for which the “Galati 2020” team organized an artistic moment jointly with the St. Spiridon Center for Children.
The drama play “Domnul Goe”, was entirely performed by the children from St. Spiridon. For many it was the first time that they acted in a play, however they were not afraid to present themselves and showed an excellent artistic performance. The audience of this beautiful event was impressed by the commitment and the great creative talent of the children. .
The event comprised an educational and inter-generational dimension as children had to prepare themselves with the support of their teachers in school and in the day-care center, managing to achieve great results and engagement in both school and extra-curricular activities.
After these activities, the children and the team of teachers are devoted to participate in more such events for other children and in follow-up activities which are meant to keep them engaged in self-development and further education through creativity and talent.
By supporting such activities, Galati 2020 wants to raise awareness for the children and their needs and promote a better development environment for them in Galati. The children should have opportunities to get involved in self-development and self-discovery projects and should become more visible as the future adult people that need empowerment and a basis for their future in Galati. We do not know what they future might hold for these children. Maybe some of them will take up creative jobs, but even if not, it is good to introduce them to art, as art is a way of taking care of your own person, at all levels.
Also, for the same event that lasted all day on 30th of May, there was organized another play, jointly with the young actors from the League for Art Association. They performed in “Pockets full of bread” by Matei Visniec, at the Lower Danube Multicultural Center.
